- Senior Fitness (50yrs+)

Age is no barrier to fun, fitness and friendship, building stronger people in body, mind and spirit. The Hunter Sports Centre provides a fun and friendly environment to enable one and all to feel that they really belong. Senior fitness is a 1 hour program designed for anyone over the age of 50 who is looking to benefit from participating in physical activity.

The Hunter Sports Centre is very fortunate in that it offers a number of different areas to run classes such as the gymnastics hall, athletics track, field and weights area. The Centre prides itself on being able to offer a varied program to suit all.

The classes can include light aerobics, conditioning and toning circuits, use of machines in the weights room, hand weights, games and walking activities. You just never know what you are going to do.

The great news is that you don’t have to puff and sweat to benefit from physical activity. You will notice the benefits to your health and wellbeing if you aim to accumulate 30 minutes of physical activity at least 2 days a week. You will also be less likely to have a heart attack, develop diabetes, osteoporosis and colon cancer or have injuries due to falls.
