SENIORS FITNESS

The Hunter Sports Centre is very fortunate in that it offers a number of different areas to run classes eg the gymnastics hall, track, field and weights area. The Centre prides itself on being able to offer a varied fitness program for seniors.

The Classes are varied each day and can include light earobics, conditioning and toning circuits, use of machines in the weights room, hand weights, games and walking activities. You just never know what you are going to do and we are full of surprises.

This 1 hour program is designed for anyone over the age of 50 who is looking to benefit from participating in physical activity

 

Why Should I Become More Active

The great news is that you don't have to puff and sweat to benefit fromphysical activity. You will notice benefits to your health and well being if you aim to accumulate 30 minutes of physical activity at least 5 days a week.

You will also be less likely to:

Have a heart attack

Have injuries due to falls

There are 2 payment options with Seniors fitness, pay casually or a 20 visit card

Casual Visit - $7

20 Visit Card - $120.00

 

Points to Consider when excersising

Check with your general practitioner before starting
Stop if you have pain, shortness of breath or heart palpitations
Avoid the hottest part of the day
Drink water before, during and after activity.
Above all, choose an activity that you enjoy
Wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear when participating
Your small investment will assest in improving your fitness and wellbeing.
